Pet insurance helps you pay your unexpected veterinary bills, so if your pet has an accident or becomes ill, you’ve got help covering the costs. You can follow your veterinarian's recommended course of treatment knowing that your pet health insurance will help provide you with financial peace of mind.

Pet insurance helps you afford the best possible veterinary care, which helps ensure you have peace of mind for your pet’s health. With pet insurance, if your pet has an unexpected accident or illness, you will be reimbursed what your vet charges (minus your deductible, up to the policy limit), plain and simple.

Your pet insurance policy will provide coverage for all treatments recommended by your veterinarian, including*:

• Hereditary, congenital conditions
• Chronic conditions are Covered for LifeTM
• Prescription medications
• Diagnostic testing
• Veterinary exams, including specialized exams
• MRI, CAT scan and ultrasound imaging

• Alternative and holistic therapies
• Surgery
• Hydrotherapy
• Specialist treatment, including cancer treatments and more
• Non-routine dental treatment

Veterinary Fees — $8,000 a year
Your pet insurance policy will cover any treatment administered by any licensed veterinarian in the U.S. to treat illness or injury. Reimbursement is subject to the $8,000 policy limits.

Deductible — $50, $100 or $200 per illness/injury
Your deductible is the fixed dollar amount per illness or injury per policy period that will be deducted from any reimbursement following a claim. Customize your policy to fit your budget and choose from a $50, $100 or $200 deductible. The higher the deductible that you choose, the lower your premium will be!

Reimbursement— 100%, 90% or 80% per illness/injury
Your reimbursement is the amount of a claim for regular or emergency veterinary treatment that you will be reimbursed before your chosen deductible is applied. Specialist treatment will always be reimbursed at 80%.

Will my policy cover routine care?
Pet insurance is designed to give you the most comprehensive protection against unexpected vet bills for the best possible value. Experience shows that insurance for regular, scheduled treatments can come at the cost of coverage of your pet’s unexpected, and sometimes critical, health care costs. Additionally, our data shows that routine care coverage can artificially inflate premiums for all policyholders and can represent poor value for the policyholder.

How does pet health insurance work?

STEP 1. Get Treatment
If your pet has an accident or falls ill unexpectedly, don’t hesitate because of potential, unforeseen costs. Pet insurance can help with the bill.*

STEP 2. File a Claim
Filing a claim couldn't be easier. Login to your policyholder account (which you’ll receive once you buy a policy) and download your personalized one-page claim form, pre-filled with all your policy information and barcoded for fast processing. Complete and sign your form and then fax, email or mail it to the pet insurance provider with your receipts.

STEP 3. Get Reimbursed
Depending on which dog plan or cat plan you selected, you’ll get back 80%, 90% or even 100% of your vet bill, typically within five days of submitting your completed claim (actually about 95% of the time!)*

* As long as the condition was not showing clinical signs prior to the effective date of the policy or during the policy waiting period. Subject to annual policy limits of $8,000. Limits are replenished in full on renewal. Pre-existing conditions are excluded from coverage.
